In connection with the declared pandemic, all universities are changing their working hours in Kazakhstan. Due to pandemic (COVID-19), universities in all regions of country are offered to use existing methods of organizing distance learning for students. In General, our country's universities are located in large cities, so there are technical capabilities and Internet speed everywhere. All universities have sufficient opportunities to switch to distance learning, including our Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi.
Distance learning in quarantine is not a reason " to forget " about studying for the students of Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi. The more material they learn and the more tasks they complete, the more free time they will have after the end of the quarantine. Following the same direction, our students have actively learned the technique of distance learning and continue to study hard. Remote learning includes online lectures, materials for self-study, exercises to consolidate the passed topic and homework. Students of our University quickly coped with the training that is conducted with the use of distance education technologies in two informational-educational systems – «Univer» (univer.kaznu.kz) and distance learning «MOODLE» (dl.kaznu.kz). If students encounter problems with the system, they can contact the Institute of Information Technology and Innovation Development and the Center for Mass Open Online Courses (CMOOC). Also, with the help of applications, such as ZOOM, Skype, they provide lectures and seminars. The capabilities of these e-learning systems directly affect the effectiveness of training using distance learning technologies.
It should be noted that distance learning is the interaction of teachers and students at a distance while preserving all elements of the usual educational process. Teachers of our university are on the job and in touch with students. Students receive educational materials online, complete tasks, submit them for review, and get grades. Thanks to teachers of Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi who work hard and understand the situations of some students and give opportunities, we get good knowledge despite the pandemic that is worrying the whole world.
While we are sitting at home, the main thing is not to lose knowledge, so we should not forget that we can easily return to the usual learning process.
