The faculty of Philology and world languages, which was founded by such outstanding personalities as M. Auezov, A. Margulan, B. Kenzhebaev, M. Balakaev, has a long history and is rich in its traditions. Academician, classic of Kazakh literature Mukhtar Auezov, whose works occupy an honorable place in the Golden Fund of world literature, worked at our faculty for about 30 years.
Over the years, the faculty has been taught by famous scientists: academician zeynolla Kabdolov, academician rymgali Nurgali, doctors of Philology, professors Khayrolla Makhmudov, kaken Akhanov, tursynbek Kakishev, Altai Amanzholov, May Bagyzbayeva, Talgat Sairambayev, Alma Kyraubayeva. These are outstanding teachers who will always remain in our memory, and we are still proud of them.
Graduates of the faculty of Philology and world languages have become prominent state and public figures of our Republic. Among them are such prominent personalities as myrzatay Zholdasbekov, Abish Kekilbayev, Nurlan Orazalin, Ualikhan Kalizhanuly, Zhanseit Tuimebayev, Aldan Smail. The faculty is proud of famous poets and writers Abdizhamil Nurpeisov, Azilkhan Nurshaikhov, Mukhtar Magauin, Kabdesh Zhumadilov, Kadyr Myrza-Ali, Tumanbay Moldagaliev, Dulat Isabekov, Beksultan Nurzhekeyev, who occupy a special place in the Kazakh spiritual culture.
Today, students of the faculty have all the conditions for studying and living in Kazgugrad. The faculty has six departments, five of which: the Department of Kazakh linguistics, Kazakh literature and literary theory, Russian Philology and world literature, General linguistics and European languages, foreign Philology and translation are producing departments and training future specialists. The Department of foreign languages competently teaches world languages.
The faculty has close ties with major creative unions, research institutes, where our students successfully pass research practices.
Teachers and scientists who are well-known in our country and abroad work in departments, institutes and laboratories. Among them are doctors of Philology, professors Rakish Amir, berikbay sagyndykuly, Eleonora Suleymenova, Svetlana Ashimkhanova, Zhangara Dadebayev, Zeynol-Gabden Bisengali, Aslan Zhaksylykov, Bayan Zholdasbekova, Temirgali Yessembekov, Guldarkhan Smagulova, Gulmira Madieva, Alma Abdulina, Olga Abisheva,, , Anar Salkynbay, Dina alkebayeva, Olga Altynbekova, Alua Temirbolat, Zhanar Ibraeva.
The faculty has extensive international relations. Special attention is paid to academic mobility. Only in the 2016-2017 academic year foreign professors worked at the faculty: Snodrgas N. (USA), Seth Agbo (Canada), Margaret Dorlein (Holland), Hancock M (USA), Anatoly Kim (Russia), Rafael Velez-Nunez (Spain), Nusier M. (France), Najie Yildiz (Turkey), Edgar Hoffman (Austria); 26 American students were trained in the Flagship program (USA). In addition, students and undergraduates from China, Korea, Turkey, Germany and other countries study in various philological specialties. The faculty has two-degree programs for undergraduates and doctoral students: a joint program with the peoples ' friendship University of Russia and the University of Granada (Spain). The students of the specialty "Foreign language: two foreign languages" learn on a free basis for one semester on academic mobility program at Salzburg University of Economics and business Vienna (Salzburg, Austria), Beijing foreign studies University (China), PECs University (Hungary), the University of Nottingham (Malaysia), the Gazi University (Turkey) Moscow state University named after M. V. Lomonosov (Russia).
On the basis of the state budget, students, undergraduates and doctoral students of the faculty annually complete internships at the universities of Utrecht, Amsterdam (Netherlands), Granada (Spain), Budapest (Hungary), Gazi, Istanbul (Turkey), Humboldt University (Germany), Eurasian Academy (Slovakia), Busan University of foreign languages (South Korea), Great Vytautas University (Lithuania). The faculty of Philology and world languages trains competitive, highly qualified specialists.
